Is Netscape not working correctly? Netscape requires 8Mb (12MB preferred) of RAM and Macintosh OS 7.0 or later. If you don't have Macintosh OS Version 7.5.2, it is downloadable from Apple's web site. Unfortunately, the files total 14 diskettes (Over 20Mb)!!!

Internet Valet Installation Instructions Version 1.5x (4 & 5 disk versions)

1. Insert the Internet Valet diskette labeled Install.

2. The installer icon should appear in a window. Double-click the Intenet Valet Installer icon.

3. Click on Continue

4. Choose where to install the programs. Click Install when selected or just click Install if default location is OK.

5. Files will start copying from the disks (52 in all). Insert the appropriate diskette when prompted.

6. When installation completes, click Continue.

7. On the setup Welcome screen, click Next.

8. Internet Valet Setup: Setup options box - Configure Everything for Internet Valet is the default. Select Configure Internet Valet’s Programs Only if you already have MacTCP and ConfigPPP installed on your Macintosh. Otherwise click Next .

9. Fill in your personal information. *Note: All of the fields must be filled in. Click Next.

10. Fill in Internet Information:

Email address: username@domainname SMTP server: mail.domainname POP3 server: mail.domainname News server: news.domainname

Click Next.

11. Enter Your TCP/IP Information:

Primary Domain Name: domainname Primary DNS IP Address: 199.170.121.15 Secondary Domain Name: domainname Secondary DNS IP Address: 199.170.121.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Click Next

12. Enter Your PPP Information:

PPP phone number: The phone number that you are dialing. (*70, before phone number to turn off call waiting) Username: loginid (must be lower case) Password: password (must be lower case) Serial Port Speed: 38400 is default (needs to be higher than modem speed) Serial Port: Modem port is default

Click Configure

13. Click on Restart to restart the computer.

14. Double click on the left most icon on the Internet Valet Palette

15. Click on Connect button to start the modem to dial.

16. After connecting, double-click on any other icon on the Internet Valet Palette to start that application.

17. Be sure to disconnect when done!

Troubleshooting Internet Valet (3 Disk Version)

1. Make sure that the application: ConfigPPP is located in your control panel. If you do not have it in the Control Panel, it will be located in the Internet Valet Folder in the Extra Settings Folder.

2. Check MacTCP - It is located in the Control Panel

Make sure that ConfigPPP is highlighted. Then Click on the More button

The Settings are as follows.

Obtain Address: Server
Gateway Address: 0.0.0.0 - If something else you have to change Obtain Address to Manually in order to correct it. (Set Obtain Address back to Server when done)
IP Address: Class C , Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
First Line:
Domain: acc-net.com
IP Address: 209.41.209.9
Default has a dot beside it.
Next Line:
Domain: acc-net.com
IP Address: 209.41.204.10
Default has NO dot beside it.

3. Check ConfigPPP - It should be located in the Control Panel (See Step #1)

Settings:

POP: mail.acc-net.com
Port Name: Modem Port (unless you have an external plugged into serial port instead)
Idle Timeout: None (can be a time set - it is not very important)
Echo Interval: Off
Hangup on Close: Checked off
Click on Config button:
PPP Server Name: ACC-NET
Port Speed: Should be greater than your modem's speed. 57600 is a good setting for most 28.8 modems.
Flow Control: CTS & RTS (DTR)
Phone Number: 386-2761
Modem Init: ATZ or AT&F
Modem Connect Timeout: 90 seconds
